No, I’ve got that part covered, don’t worry. And Barrow it is.
It’s about your lyrium regimen. I’m speaking to all the templars about it. I understand if this is personal, but as Head Healer, I was hoping you could tell me what sort of dosage and frequency you’re on. For your own safety, I want to ensure that we’d be able to maintain even if there’s a shortage, or if you’re incapacitated and unable to administer it yourself for whatever reason. The last thing we need is for our templars to be knocked out of commission because no one else knew to look after their lyrium needs.
( And frankly he thinks it’s ridiculous that this is a religious thing and not a healthcare thing, but let’s not get into that can of worms just now— )
[That makes sense, and isn't especially offensive at that.]
Well that's-- kind of you, [he muses, even if it's established that it's also just necessary for the war effort.] Records might be a bit sketchy since I got it, uh, externally for a time, [all very above board and legal of course], but since Riftwatch started supplying its own it's been about [enough to power a medium-sized horse] every week.
[what's the point in lying? there isn't one, not anymore.]
( There’s a flicker of relief at the honesty, and the answering scratch of quill on paper. The doctor’s taking notes, in some kind of horrible chickenscratch hieroglyph, but they are notes. )
Excellent, thank you. This’ll go into your care file, but rest assured it’s under lock and key and only for healers to look at. It’s all part and parcel of getting the infirmary records up-to-date—
( Actually maybe this is a good time to get the rest of it, too. )
While we’re at it. Do you have any deathly allergies one should be aware of? Shellfish or tree nuts or anything?
( That’s unexpectedly familiar, but— all his first thoughts are of medication, surgery, all the things he can’t do here. So Strange has to go puttering around for a moment, digging through some reference material on local anti-inflammatories, dredging for ideas. )
Hmm. Nothing that can cure it fully, unfortunately, but there’s a few things that can help, if you haven’t been doing them already. Turmeric and fish oil, for the inflammation. Painkillers in general. Physical therapy and exercises for joint flexibility.
Sorry to say. It’s astonishingly bad for you; like makes literally everything worse, in unexpected ways, everywhere. Quitting’s probably one of the single best things you could do for your health.
But if it makes you feel any better, plenty of doctors are hypocrites and smoke anyway, so, I can’t force you. And to tell the truth, I’m more preoccupied with the part about managing the lyrium.
[There's a pause on the line, like Barrow is trying to figure out how to respond to that, and he ultimately gives up. Let's just. Let's just leave that there.

[Is 'allergies' a thing? It must be.]
If you've got anything that'll help with the rheumatism, though, that'd be. Something.

Quitting smoking, if you smoke.
