[The punchline is met with a brief silence when it lands, but, like the calm before a storm, it's abruptly followed by a loud guffaw that is only barely contained by Ser Barrow's hand clapping over his own mouth. He squeezes his eyes closed in anguish as his shoulders convulse, occasionally pausing to try and open them again, only to remember why he's trying to be quiet and it starts over again.
It's several minutes later when he's finally collected himself, cleared his throat, and stood straight again, but he can't quell the smirk that continuously fights its way onto his face.]
[ who said it was imagination, etcetera. he's humoured the joke long enough; the guffaw gratifying enough to shift her own grin loose. the swagger of youth, momentarily unrestrained.
[His smile is easy, twitching up further at the sight of hers: it's too bad they'll be off doing some official thing or another whenever this eternity of a meeting is over, or else they might get to actually know each other. He wouldn't mind that.]
